What is a ceramic coating?

A ceramic coating is a type of paint protection. However it is not like other types of protection such as waxes. Ceramic coatings are made to last much longer than typical sealants and protections. A normal wax can last for about 3-6 months whereas a ceramic coating can last from 5-10 years if maintained properly. Ceramic coatings protect your vehicles paint from UV rays, environmental contaminants (bird droppings, tree sap, etc. which can damage your vehicles paint over time.), chemical resistance such as road salt and acidic substances, water and dirt repellency, and although not a full protection, it can very slightly protect your paint from swirl marks to an extent.

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is a process that involves removing imperfections on the surface of your vehicles paint, such as swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation. It restores the paint to its original shine and clarity.

Why should I get my vehicle's paint corrected before I have it ceramic coated?

If you are looking into getting your vehicle ceramic coated then you need to also look into paint correction. When you ceramic coat your vehicle, any imperfections on the paint will remain there and would need to have the coating removed in order to correct it. So if you are thinking about getting scratches, marks, or oxidation out of your paint after getting the the vehicle ceramic coated then think twice so that you don't pay more money then you need to.
